Synopsis
Set the abundances used by X-Spec.

set_xsabundances(abundances)
Description
Example
Change the relative abundance of Chromium:
>>> abunds = get_xsabundances() >>> abunds['Cr'] = 4.2e-6 >>> set_xsabundances(abunds)
PARAMETERS
The parameter for this function is:
Parameter | Type information | Definition |
---|---|---|
abundances | dict | The new set of abundances. The keys are the element name (e.g. 'Fe') and the values are the abundances. Any element that is not present is set to 0.0, and other keywords are ignored. |
Changes in CIAO
Added in CIAO 4.17
XSPEC version
CIAO 4.17 comes with support for version 12.14.0k of the XSPEC models. This can be checked with the following:
% python -c 'from sherpa.astro import xspec; print(xspec.get_xsversion())' 12.14.0k
