Authors who have processed Chandra images or other pertinent and valuable datasets that are essential to their scientific publications are welcome to submit such datasets for storage at the Chandra Data Archive site, although those authors seeking permanent storage are encouraged to consider alternative data hosting services like those provided by CDS, Zenodo, Figshare, etc. We are particularly interested in the digital data that are represented in the figures and tables of published papers. An example of such dataset can be accessed here. Requests for storing these special datasets may be submitted to arcops@cfa.harvard.edu.
We ask that users kindly provide:
- an explanation of the data and context
- a tarfile containing a self-contained web tree:
- an index.html file that provides an explanation of the dataset and all access to the dataset's files
- a subdirectory with the actual data files; all access to the dataset's files need to go through the index file; see the example mentioned above
- a PDF copy of the paper (this will not be published by us, but provides us the information needed to create the necessary links)
List of contributed datasets:
The pre-packaged datasets of the Chandra Deep Fields are also available in this category:
The HETG Orion Legacy Project:
- First Release of Merged Spectra (this release)
- Second Release of Individual Observations (to be added in 2024)
