Stacked Observation Detections Merge Source Detections List File (mrgsrc3.fits)
The merged source detections list file consists of a single FITS format file that creates a merged source list from the individual MLE source runs of the combined observations stack generated by the Stacker pipeline.
FITS HDUs (CXC Data Model blocks):
- SRCLIST: a row per each unique source in the stack of observations, the largest likelihood is calculated for each detection and flag the detection quality as TRUE, MARGINAL or FALSE depending on the likelihood.
- SRCFIT: the basic merged source list, with one row for each detection in the stack. There may be duplicate source detections since the source is detected multiple times in the initial step.
- WAVSRC: output by the wavelet detection
- MPNTSRC: table of point sources created by mkvtbkg
- MEXTSRC: table of extended sources created by mkvtbkg
- NO_DETECT: table of regions that have no sources found; used to determine photometric upper-limits.
The merged source detections list FITS file is named: 〈i〉〈s〉〈stkpos〉_〈stkver〉N〈v〉_mrgsrc3.fits
where 〈i〉 is the instrument designation; 〈s〉 is the data source; 〈stkpos〉 is the position component of the stack name, formatted as "Jhhmmsss{p|m}ddmmss"; 〈stkver〉 is the 3-digit version component of the stack name, formatted with leading zeros; and 〈v〉 is the data product version number.
