Title: Spectroscopy of an X-ray bright QSO lens with NALs, microlensing, and time lag
PI Name: Georg Lamer
Abstract: The recently discovered lensed QSO eRASS1 J050129.5-073309 at z=2.47 is one of the X-ray brightest lenses at higher redshifts. The presence of narrow UV absorption lines in its optical spectrum makes the object a candidate for the detection of an ultrafast outflow (UFO) in its X-ray spectrum. UFOs are considered to be one of the feedback mechanisms regulating the evolution of galaxies. Therefore high quality observations of objects during the epoch of the cosmic noon are of high importance.
We propose to observe eRASS1 J050129.5-073309 with XMM-Newton and Chandra in order to obtain high quality spectra with EPIC and to resolve the 2 QSO images with ACIS.
