Abstract
The presentation concerned the ionization and equilibration process as reveiled
by an observation of the supernova remnant SN 1006 with XMM-Newton.
Although an extended source a small knot in the northwest of the remnant could
still be observed with sufficient spectral resolution with the reflective gratings.
This observation shows clear evidence that the OVII lines are thermally broadening,
proving that post-shock electron ion-electron temperature equilibration is slow
with a measured oxygen temperature of 411 keV.
