The color scale shows the percent deviation from the overall average background derived from all 21 pointings in this instrumental configuration. The raw data were first blocked 8x8 and then, after averaging, smoothed using a Gaussian with a sigma of 40 blocked pixels. The color scale was set to be the same for all the percentage plots. This data can also be seen as a color contour map of the count rate and as a 3-D projection on an absolute scale.
